California Coast

After a summer of boon docking and quality family time, we felt ready to roll (back) down the west coast.  Once again our target was to meet with the Hi5s Foundation for the next incarnation of #HI5theWAVE surf camp, this time in Ventura, Ca.

The challenge was, Lacey and Nova were on their own to drive the 2000+kms to get to our destination.  That is until our friend Heather offered to co-pilot the trip with them.  IMG_5080IMG_5106IMG_5170IMG_5120IMG_5133 IMG_5179 IMG_5183Meanwhile I was up in northern BC on a canoe trip with the boys.  IMG_9079RYA_7192.jpg A_resizeRYA_7181.jpg A_resizeVIDEO|Bowron Lakes

On October 8th – our family was reunited.  As in Lacey, NOVA and myself.  But also our extended family, the Hi5s Foundation.

From Ventura – we rallied south, towards Encinitas.
IMG_9326 IMG_9298 IMG_9317We gave ourselves about a week to sink into this quintessential Californian town.  Not that we really like to pick favourites, but if we did this would be it.  The beaches and yoga studios is what really won us over, those combined made for an amazing community vibe. Our neighbours at the campground thought Nova would love the San Diego Zoo and hooked us up with their guest passes.  They were right, Nova LOVED the animals.IMG_9342 IMG_9347 IMG_9352 IMG_9357 IMG_9359 IMG_9369 IMG_9380
